This week’s recommendation is “Cold Day in the Sun” by the multiple Grammy Award winning band, Foo Fighters.

While, the Foo Fighters have won multiple awards for multiple albums and songs, this song is one that often gets outshone by the other, more “popular” ones. It’s written by Taylor Hawkins, the band’s drummer, who also leads the vocals on this one, rather than the regular frontman, Dave Grohl. In some of their live performances, there is often a running joke after this song, where Growl remarks that Hawkins is is “not a bad singer” for being a drummer. Hawkins retorts by saying, “neither are you”. (In case you didn’t get this, it’s because Growl was the drummer for the erstwhile sensation Nirvana

Like last time, there is no “official video” on YouTube, so, I’m posting 2 videos, first is of the album version of the song and then a live performance at the Late Show with David Letterman
